Health information
Welcome to the site of the Middle School Nurses. This site will be more specific to the needs of the middle schools.
Procedures
Hawthorn schools are extremely vigilant when it comes to maintaining a healthy environment. We meet and exceed requirements laid out by the Illinois Department of Public Health, and update those procedures frequently.
Our nurses and teachers make sure students know the most effective way to wash hands, and we encourage everyone in our schools to wash frequently. Hand sanitizer is also available throughout our facilities.
We work hard to keep our buildings clean at all times. For instance, lunchroom tables are wiped down with disinfectant before and between every meal service. Our classrooms and common areas are wiped down each day, and our floors are mopped with a disinfectant solution each evening. Fast-acting germicidal products are used as appropriate.
